Edmonton Oilers Vs Dallas Stars

Oilers Powerhouse Advances to Conference Finals After Hard-Fought Win

Nugent-Hopkins' Heroics Lead Edmonton to Victory

McDavid Continues Impressive Playoff Surge

EDMONTON, AB - A dominant performance from Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, who netted a pair of goals, propelled the Edmonton Oilers to a hard-fought 3-1 road victory over the Dallas Stars in Game 5 of the Western Conference Final. The win sends the Oilers to the conference finals for the first time since 2017.

Nugent-Hopkins opened the scoring in the first period with a wrist shot from the high slot. His second goal came on the power play in the third period, giving the Oilers a commanding 3-0 lead. Connor McDavid, who continues to excel in the postseason, added a goal and an assist for Edmonton.

Stars captain Jamie Benn spoiled Stuart Skinner's shutout bid with a power-play goal in the final minutes of the third period, but it was too little too late for Dallas.

The Oilers will open the conference finals at home against the winner of the St. Louis Blues-Colorado Avalanche series. Game 1 is scheduled for Tuesday, June 6.
